ULTRAFILM

Ultrafilm is a single layer extruded film, which provides a very good shape retention.

Ultrafilm "1N" version is coated on one side with a general purpose EVA "N"-type hot melt adhesive. "G"-type hot melt adhesive is available for using with uppers made of greasy and oily materials. The double coated version "2N" has the same coating applied on both sides, for applications where the toe puff is press laminated between the upper and the lining.

1. Warm application method
   The cut, skived toe puff can be warmed on a hot plate or flash activation machine until it becomes soft and pliable before pressing it onto the underside of the vamp prior to conditioning for toe lasting.
2. Cold insertion method 
   The cut, skived toe puff is loose placed on the underside of the vamp and pressed on by a toe puff fusing press for 5-10 sec at 180°C. The forepart of the shoe needs to be conditioned up to approx. 60°C prior to toe lasting.
