Leatherboard is made of an irregularly laid mixture of different leather fibres as the base substance. The fibres are bonded by mainly natural binders to obtain a firm material that shows leather-like qualities.
Leatherboards are used in shoemaking for premoulded counters, stack heels, welting, randing, outsoles and insoles.
Various grades of fibreboard are available for different types of applications, including leathergoods, belts, furniture, automotive components, flooring, book binding etc.
Most popular thicknesses are from 1.00 mm up to 6.00 mm.
