MAXIM is a traditional toe-puff and counter material, specially formulated for solvent dipping application.
Made by impregnated cotton woven or polyester non-woven, Maxim is available in thickness varying from 0.65 mm up to 2.40 mm.
Insertion method
The cut, skived counter can be dipped into a solvent until it becomes soft and pliable, before inserting into the counter pocket for backpart moulding.
Seat Lasting
All operations of lasting must be made whilst article is soft.
The last can be pulled out from the shoe only after the evaporation of the solvent, i.e. once the counter reaches its characteristic stiffness.
The type of solvent establishes the working time:
Fast Drying: Methylene Chloride Medium Drying: Methyl Ethyl Ketone Slow Drying: Toluene, Xylene
